The goal and purpose of the deacon board at Mill Creek is to minister to the members and to advise the Pastor on the needs of our church. The deacons meet regularly to plan and discuss strategies for outreach.
Mill Creek Deacons
ALLEN & CHARLOTTE SURRATT
Allen is currently our Deacon Chairman. He is a military retiree and Charlotte has worked for the Red Cross.
Cesar and Rachel Lopez
Cesar and his wife Rachel have three daughters and have served in a wide variety of positions at Mill Creek. They enjoy participating in strength training competitions.
Greg and Mary Luce
Greg is a military retiree and has served in a number of church roles over the years. He and his wife Mary (our Church Secretary) have eleven adult children and many grandchildren. They enjoy hiking in their spare time.
JR AND LINDA MIRACLE
JR and Linda Miracle reside in Hodgenville with Linda’s dependent, Stephan. They have 2 sons & daughter in laws, as well as 1 grandchild.
JR is a retired cabinet builder/installer. He spends his time doing woodwork and European Mounts.
Linda is a retired teacher. She currently is employed as a part time intervention teacher & substitute in LaRue County.
The Miracles enjoy walking, gardening, volunteering, and spending time with their grandson.
Michael Shepherd
Michael Shepherd, retired military, has two adult sons and currently works on Fort Knox. He has coordinated our ministry to the Bluegrass Challenge Academy for many years and enjoys grilling for our annual Church Picnic.
Chester Powell
Chester is pictured here with his late wife, Sue. They raised four children and have eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Chester has served as a deacon at Mill Creek for decades, and they have both served in many capacities within the church. When Sue was well, the Powells enjoyed traveling.
